1. Part exchange
This will differ from dealer to dealer depending on their stock profile.
Our part exchange valuation tool is independently powered by Autotrader therefore we don't pick and choose which cars to value high or indeed low.
Our values are consistant with the market on a daily basis. Based on the condition of your car this price will fluctuate. The price we have given online has been honoured 100% of the time. We will also collect your car when we deliver your new car.
How are Auto Trader valuations calculated?
Every day Auto Trader combine and analyse data from a number of sources, including:
* Over 500,000 ads on Auto Trader and dealer websites
* Price data from major car auctions
* Information on fleet and leasing disposal prices
* Auto Trader valuations play back what's in the market, and because the used-car market changes quickly, they update their valuations every day.
2. Private sale
This will give you the opportunity to ask a little bit more for your car, as the person buying it will be doing so to use it. You will need to price your car cheaper than what dealerships are selling them for as a private sale comes with many risks for the buyer. You also need to mindful that people will want to come and view the car and take it for a test drive.
3. Online car buying company
The majority of these companies will give you an instant price online. They work a little differently from us, as they require you to take the vehicle to them before
committing to a price. It's always worth checking this option though as its quick and easy to get the valuation. Just be mindful, these companies only make money by
selling your car on for profit within the trade. For them to do that they need to give you less than the market value, so be prepared for them to offer you less than the
online valuation when you take the vehicle to them.
We hope this helps. If you need any further information please don't hesitate to contact us.
